The each-way favourite, Sinking hund, scored narrowly in the President s Handicap. Wait and See and Sinking 1< und made nil the running, and they came on to the straight together just ahead of hirst Lap and Prince Colossus. Sinking Fund stayed on at the finish to win by a neck from First Lnp, who finished gamely under pressure. Prince Colossus was a fair third, and Wait and See was fourth. Sinking Fund and First Lap both ran up to form. Wait and See had every chance, but failed in the last furlong.
