Man Seriously Injured By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dannevirke, February 7. A ear driven by Frederick H. Slater, proprietor of shops at Dannevirke and Palmerston North, who was accompanied by Miss Florence Hislop, of Hastings, skidded on loose metal early this morning at the new deviation on a hill near the northern approach to Dannevirke and capsized. Mr. Slater received severe head injuries, and his condition is critical. Miss Hislop was not seriously hurt.
