Historical Romance
ACTUAL filming has started on xx “Clive of India,” which will be one of the most elaborate spectacles ever attempted by 20th Century; Ronald Colman plays the title role in rhe film, which depicts the romance and adventure of one of England’s greatest generals. Loretta Young has the feminine lead, with Colin Clive and Francis Lister in importaant supporting roles. The script was written by W. P. Lipscombe and R. J. Minney, authors of the London stage success of the same name. An outstanding sequence in the production will be a picturisation of the Black Hole of Calcutta, one of the most horrifying episodes in the history of war. and a famous highlight in the history of Great Britain. United Artists will release “Clive of India.”
