Comedy for Wellington

tTHE delightful comedy, “The Wind and the Rain,” which the J. C. Williamson New London Dramatic and Comedy Company will play in Wellingtion following their first production, “Ten Minute Alibi,” has been running continuously in London for over twelve months and it is still attracting large audiences throughout England. Its presentation is of outstanding interest to New Zealanders because of the fact

that it was written by Merton Hodge, who was born in New Zealand, and who studied medicine at the Dunedin University. Dr. Hodge, who is well-known in Wellington repertory circles, has won for himself a notable reputation in England as a playwright, due to a large extent to the brilliancy of “The Wind and the Rain,” which is regarded as one of the most entertaining and finest comedies the stage has ever known. Heading the cast is the English actor, George Thirlwell, who has the support of Jocelyn Howarth and Ariendel Nixon.
