New Season’s Wheat Prices Announced By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch. January 18. At a meeting of the Wheat Purchase Board to-day. the interim payments for the 1934-35 wheat crop were fixed. They provided for 6d. a bushel increase on last season’s prices, and are as follow: January to March (inclusive) : Tuscan 4/- a bushel, Hunters 4/2, Pearl and Velvet 4/4. From April to July (inclusive) : The monthly increment for each variety will be one penny, and for August and September one half-penny a bushel, the maximum prices being in September, as follow: Tuscan 4/5, Hunters 4/7, Pearl and Velvet 4/9. The prices of f.o.b. growers’ nearest port. The increments south of North Otago, except in the Luggate-Arrow-town district, will extend a month later. The monthly increments are the same as last season, and the selling prices to millers remain the same as last season: 4/7} for Tuscan, 4/9} for Hunters, and 4/11} for Pearl and Velvet to and including March, and monthly increments; the maximum price being in September—s/o.} for Tuscan, 5/2} for Hunters, and 5/4} for Pearl and Velvet. There are slight variations in the selling price to millers in the Marlborough province.
