ON WAY TO DOMINION
F. J. Perry Leaves Sydney REPORTED AMBITION (Received January IS, 8.5 p.m.) Sydney, January I’B. Almost last to go aboard the Monowai, which left for Auckland to-day, was F. J. Ferry, who is to play in the New Zealand tennis championships, and will then travel to America on the Aorangi. Perry arrived from Adelaide this morning, fulfilled some rush appointments, and had a brief talk with Crawford. He told Press interviewers that he had had a most enjoyable time in Australia, and might come back again or might not. What would happen after he had competed in the New Zealand championships was in the lap of the gods. He added, “I wish I knew three weeks ago as much as I know now,” and left it at that. A “Sydney Morning Herald” interviewer states that Perry has aspirations to become a film star, not merely as a tennis player of repute, but in a part where he will have an opportunity of displaying his tennis ability.
