GIVES SIXTH SENSE Girls Learn Jiu-jitsu A slender girl of 22, using little apparent effort, threw a man weighing 15 stone over her head at the annual display of the Budokwai at the Stadium Club, Holboru, London, recently. She is Miss Adeline Barker, one of 30 young London women who are studying jiu-jitsu, and she stood out among the white-belted novices bywearing the brown belt of the Ist Kyu. which she has earned since the last display. “I feel confident of being able to defend myself against any attack, no matter how tall or heavy the man.” she said to a newspaper representative. Miss Barker has given up all other sports for jiu-jitsu. “It is the most fascinating of all.” she said. -'You can go on forever lemming. It keeps your mind alert, and gives you a sixth , sense about what may happen.”
