FORECAST FOR TO-DAY’S WEATHER.
* Fair, but with isolated showers. Following is the weather report and forecast issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, for 24 hours ending at 4 p.m. to-day :— A depression has passed to the east of the South Island, and barometers aie again fairly high over the whole Dominion. An area of low pressure extends over northern Australia and the tropics. Forecast: Winds variable at first, but moderate northerlies soon predominating and freshening at times in the far north. Seas smooth to moderate in New Zealand waters. Moderate to fresh east to north-east winds, and moderate seas, in the eastern Tasman Sea. , , ~ , Weather fair to cloudy for the most part, but with a lew isolated showers likely. Temperatures ‘moderate, but becoming warmer again soon. Rainfall at "The Dominion” Building for 24 hours ended at midnight last night: Nil- . , Rainfall for January to date: o.<o inches. • . Shade temperature at “The Dominion Building during 24 hours ended at midnight last night: Maximum, 73 degrees; minimum, 65 degrees.
