FORECAST FOR TO-DAY’S WEATHER.
Warm and fair, with rain to follow. Following is the weather report a.id forecast issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, for 24 hours ending at 4 p.m. to-day :— The recent anti-cyclone is now centred east of the Dominion. A sharp low pressure wave has been crossing southern New Zealand to-day, while an extensive depression is located over the north-west Tasman Sea. , Forecast - Moderate to strong northerly winds reaching gale force at places especially about and south of Cook Strait; backing to southerly m the tar south, and southerlies extending up as far as Cook Strait within the next -1 hoi is. Seas rough south of Cape Egmont and Castlepoint and also noith ol East Cap-, elsewhere in New Zealand waters moderate. „ Strong north-easterly winds in the northern portion of the eastern lasman Sea, and northerly to westerly, backing soon to southerlies, in the southern portion, Weather unsettled in the western and southern portions of the South Island, with rain at times; elsewhere fair at first, but gradually clouding over and i.i extending to most districts within the next day or two. lemperatures warm, but becoming cooler to-morrow in the South Island.
