The Greenshirts Three members o£ the Christchurch branch ot the Douglas Social Credit Movement, when they left that eity on a trip to Dunedin, wore their new uniforms —green shirts, tartan ties, grey flannel trousers and soft cloth hats. Noo gie me, lass, ma uniform — Ma flannel trews an’ green shirt. Ma tartan tie, tae keep me warm, Ma bonnet (made frae Jean’s skirt); For I maun tak the road right soon, (Noo kiss me on the mug, lass). An’ gang tae far Dunedin toon Tae feeht for Major Douglas. Gin aucht will win Dunedin toon ’ For Douglas an’ his system. ' This bounie tartan tie’s the boon. The lassies wad bae kissed him, Gin they had kenthe wad invent Time flannel trews an’ shirtin’; (An’ hats that look .as if they’re rent Frae ony auld wife’s skirtin’). Sue dress me up, ma ain guid-wife, I hae’na time tae linger, - For I maun join in wordy strife Decked oot like ae sair finger ; An’ feeht for payments A an’ B (Nob gie me ae last hug. lass), But maistly for the BONUS C — Hech, Sirs, the noble Douglas!
