YESTERDAY’S WEATHER

Still Warm at Wellington High temperatures continued from Thursday in Wellington, but a light northerly wind gradually arose, and most of yesterday was, in consequence, cloudy and cooler. The temperature at 4 p.m. was 68.6 deg., and the maximum during the day was 68.8 deg. The weather at Palmerston North was overcast and sultry during the morning, but fine and sunny in the afternoon.

Fine weather continued at Masterton, the conditions being very hot. There was a light northerly breeze. The temperature at 1.30 p.m. reached Sl.4deg. in the shade. Muggy weather with a certain amount of rain in the morning was experienced at Wanganui. The skies cleared again in the afternoon. After a few fight showers early in the morning the weather at Auckland was fine and sunny all day with a moderate breeze from the north-east. The barometer was practically steady. With a maximum temperature of 80.5 deg. Christchurch experienced the hottest day so far this summer. There was a light east-north-east breeze. The barometer was steady at 30.09 in. Perfect summer weather was again experienced at Dunedin, the sun shining from a clear sky. The conditions were very warm, the temperature at 8 a.m. being 69deg. and the maximum for the day SOdeg. A light easterly wind was blowing.
