Thou bird of gold-glad autumn, In leaf-tinged feathers drest; Your heart is of the sunshine, 0, eager, shining breast.
You sang all day ■with the quiet, leaves In my whispering wattle tree; I sat on the step to listen. And thought “it is just for me."
But I knew it wasn't really, Because over and over you'd call; “Look! look!’’ and I know your secret, A nest in the oreeper-cldd wall.
