BODYLINE WRANGLE

Effect on Australians in England

By Telegraph.—Press Association.

Auckland, November 30.

-It would be interesting to know just how much trade has been lost to Australia through bodyline bowling,” said an Australian, Mr. A. R. Garliug, formerly of the broadcast station 21* C, Sydney, in an interview to-day. “During the war the Australian in England was ace-high with all classes, but now, due to the bodyline controversy, he is ranked by the masses with the Kaffirs. Among business men who know Australia there is none of. this feeling, but among the masses the Australian is liable to be openly insulted.

“In Scotland, where everyone one meets appears to have a relative who i.s making money in Australia, the Australians are splendidly received,” added Mi'.' Garling.
