SUNDAY SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY

Celebrations at Miramar The thirteenth anniversary of the Miramar Methodist Sunday School was celebrated during the past week. There were crowded congregations on Sunday, when the preachers were the Rev. F. E. Leadly in the morning, Mr. 11. Hardie Boys in the afternoon, and the Rev. H. C. Matthews in the evening. The outstanding feature of the services was the splendid singing of the choir of 150 scholars under the baton of Mr. A. Mackie and ably assisted by a small orchestra. The celebrations were concluded on Tuesday, when a children’s tea was held, followed by the public meeting. Mr. A. IV. Reid was the speaker, and gave an interesting o-bject lesson to the children. The prizes won during the year were'presented, the dux prize being won by Master Sydney Hinde. A programme of singing by the scholars was greatly appreciated by the audience.

Opportunity was taken by the superintendent to announce the proposed reorganisation of the Sunday School into four departments. This had become necessary for the efficient development of the school and indicated very satisfactory progress; it is to become effective from the first Sunday In February.
