Duke of Gloucester at Newcastle AT CONTROLS OF PLANE By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright. (Received November 29, 9.20 p.m.) Newcastle, November 29. The Duke of Gloucester returned from his northern tour by aeroplane to-day, landing at Newcastle at lunchtime. He was at the controls of the aeroplane during almost the whole journey from Coffs Harbour. His reception at Newcastle was most enthusiastic, although the heat was SGVOL’G. Last night the Duke had a plate of kangaroo soup. He saw an old sundowner with whom he conversed, and found time to peep into a settler’s camp where he saw men playing cards. Early this morning he h ( ad a dip in the surf in Coffs Harbour. This afternoon he continued his journey by the Royal train, visiting West Maitland, Singleton, and Muswellbrook. He is spending the night at the home of Mr. James White at Muswellbrook.
