INTEREST RATES
Policy of Bank of New South Wales The Bank of New South Wales yesterday reduced the rates of interest allowed on fixed deposits by i per cent., thus coming into line with the other trading banks. With regard to the rate of interest on overdrafts, which, as announced yesterday by the other five banks, will be reduced as from November 30 from 5 per cent, to -11 per cent, as the minimum rate on best accounts, the Bank of New South Wales announces that it is not, at present, Quoting a minimum rate. All rates of interest are arranged between the bank and its clients. The Bank of New South Wales always has done all it consistently can do both for its customers and the Dominion, and will continue to do so.
