LOST VILLAGE OF FRANCE
There was a tragic atmosphere a few weeks ago about the inauguration of a chapel on the spot near where otice stood the French village of Fleury. This was one of six communes in the “Red Zone" near Verdun which were completely destroyed in the tremendous fighting of 1916 and never rebuilt. pefore the chapel was built the. only reminder that there was once a village of Fleury was the fact that, its name still appears on maps of the district.
