(Received November'!. 8.15 p.m.) London, October 31. , Protestants throughout Germany today, celebrated Herr Hitler’s capitulation with the fervour of the early Lutheran Christians. j Long white flags, bearing purple crosses, which is the German Evangelical. Church’s banner, again flew in Berlin streets instead of the Nazi swastika, which Dr. Mueller, the Primate, had- ordered to replace them, while throughout the country followers of-7000 pastors who had defied Dr. Mueller met in public halls.to celebrate simultaneously the end of the persecution and the anniversary, of the Reformation.
Their former churches are still closed to them, but it is only a matter of days before “the rebel pastors” regain control of their churches and organisation. Dr. Nelmollei", addressing 4000 Protestants at a Berlin theatre, said that Bishops Meiser and Wurm would be restored to office to-morrow.
