ILLNESS OF JUROR
Trial Continues With Panel of Eleven Dominion Special Service. Auckland, October 27. A case of a juror having to leave his place and retire on account of illness occurred during the progress of a criminal trial before Mr. Justice Fair m tfie Auckland Supreme Court. An hour after the trial was resumed, following the adjournment from the previous day, the foreman of the jury drew the attention of the registrar to the fact that one of the jurors was ill. The court was adjourned for 10 minutes, and the juror was able to take iiis place again when the hearing was resumed. An hour later the foreman said the same juror was feeling ill again and appeared to be in pain. The juror then retired from the court and was taken home. At this stage, Mr.-Hubble, for the prosecution, announced that Mr. Herd, who appeared for accused, was prepared to continue the trial with only 11 jurors.
