4— Torn From Moorings By. Wind LONG CHASE BY AIR AND ROAD (British Official Wireless.) (Received October 26, 5.5 p.m.) Rugby, October 25. A balloon belonging to the Royal Air Force flying school at Lark Hill, while taking part in divisional manoeuvres on Salisbury Plain to-day, broke from its mooring cable in a violent gust of wind and drifted 80 miles before the pilot and staff officer on board brought it safely to earth. Meanwhile it had been chased by an autogiro, an aeroplane and motor-cars.
