COLLEGE HARRIERS
Rongotai Championships
There was a record field of 230 starters in ihe annual eross-country races conducted at Rongotai College on ’Wednesday. The three-mile course of undulating country, hill and beach work,. tried the runners out thoroughly, but good times were registered.
Performances of note were given by J. AV. Dustin in the junior handicap and A. D. Smith in the junior championship. The times were 18min. lOsee. and 17min. 32sec. respectively, not very far below those of the two senior events, which were run in 18min. and 16miu. 55sec. respectively. The points gained by the winners in the two championship events count toward points gained by them in the senior and junior mile events on sports day.
