THE HON. A. HAMILTON
Returns to Wellington After Recent Operation
IMPROVEMENT IN HEALTH
The Hon. Adam Hamilton, Post-master-General and Minister of Employment, who has been resting and convalescing in Oamaru and Invercargill since his recent operation, returned to Wellington yesterday. Mr. Hamilton, who is looking and feeling much better and stronger than when he went away, said in an interview last night that he was feeling the benefit of his rest from Cabinet duties and that his operation had proved perfectly successful "I have come back to Wellington to help the Government in any way I can,” remarked Mr. Hamilton, “but, of course, I shall not be able to shoulder very much work for a little while yet. I shall retain the portfolios of Postmaster-General and Minister in Charge of Tourist Resorts, but shall not take over Employment or Labour until I feel that I am absolutely fit again.” Mr. Hamilton indicated that he would be seeking his Wellington doctor’s advice before deciding exactly how much work he could wisely undertake There were one or two matters he would like to see to at the first opportunity but before ht did anything he would naturally like to consult with his Cabinet colleagues
Mr. Hamilton denied a rumour that he was leaving for Australia to attend the Melbourne centenary celebrations. He had not thought of making such a trip and he had no wish to go.
