TAXATION BURDEN
What New South Wales Pays
Sydney, September 21.
At the annual meeting of the Taxpayers’ Association of New South Wales the president, Mr. S. MeKellar White, said that New South Wales was the most heavily-taxed State in the world. The combined Federal and State taxes for the year ended June 30, 1933. in this State amounted to £l5/10/1 per head, which did not include municipal and local rates, which averaged £3 10/3 per head.
