There are 18 seamen all holding certificates, and some .of them have been on the vessel for 18 months.
Owing to the large number of vessels idle in Great Britain hundreds Of masters and officers are unemployed, and many of them have been forced to Join the crews of ships. The Port Gisborne is the only vessel trading to New Zealand with a crew comprised of certificated men. She sailed from Auckland for London on Tuesday afternoon.
