To be marooned for eight days in an ice-cave on a Himilayan peak at an altitude of 22,000 feet during terrific blizzards, was the experience of 14 members of the Karakoram national expedition, which included Germans, Swiss, Italian, Austrians and Americans. „ . Frau Dyrhenfurth, wife of Professor Dyrhenfurth, the leader of the party, has returned to Srinagar. She is a famous climber, and has reached a height of 24,700 feet higher than any other woman elimber. She states that the party was suffering from the terrible cold. She was unable to see for three days owing to snowblindness.
