LATE MR. W. BLAKISTON
Funeral Yesterday The oilices of the Atlantic Union Oil Company were closed as a mark of respect for the late Mr. W. F. J. Blakiston/ the company’s Wellington manager and advertising manager for New Zealand, whose funeral took place yesterday afternoon. The whole of the headquarters and Wellington staffs attended. The service was conducted by the Rev. J. 11. Sykes, and Messrs. Thomson, Brown, Weir, McCallum, Richardson and Tab’.ey, of the staff, acted as pall-bearers. Among those present were Messrs. R. B. McDowell, Wellington branch manager’ of the Shell Oil Company ; E. A, Sevier, general manager of the Vacuum Oil Company ; R. F. Smillie, manager for New Zealand, and R. Armstrong, sales manager, C. C. Wakefield & Co., Ltd.; H. A. Hansen, Wellington district manager of the Texas Oil Company ; C. B. Todd, of Associated Motorists, Ltd.: D. Cody. Charles Haines Advertising Agency. Ltd.; E. A. Blundell, “Evening Post” directorate; R. E. Bennett. secretary Wellesley Club; A. W. Nisbet. secretary Wellington Aero Club, F. W. Mothes and K. G. Kearney. Goldberg Advertising Agency, and H. J.
