A request was received from the West Coast (N. 1. Centre asking that the annual Otaki-Paraparaumu return event be postponed from September 29 until a later date, <as the newly-donned Shannon club was holding its initial event on that date. As the Otaki club’s* annual race is classed as a prominent event, it was decided to reply to this effect, and to suggest that the Shannon club postpone its first race until a date when jnore support would be forthcoming. The snb-commit-tee appointed to deal with arrangements for the Palmerston y North-Wellington event presented its report, and satisfaction was . expressed with the progress made. Final arrangements were made, and officials were appointed for the provincial championships on September 15. It was resolved that the amended constitution and rules be adopted as the centre’s rules until such time as they are superceded by the New Zealand Cycling Association rules. •
_A sub-committee .comprising Messrs. Nnttrass, Dutton and Webber, was appointed to make arrangements for a suitable welcome to H. Opperman, who arrives from Europe next week.
Port. Nicholson club delegates protested against the action of the Hutt Valley club in allowing C. McKurk, a Port Nicholson member, to participate in last Saturday's race. After considerable discussion it was decided that first place be awarded to R, Stevens, who finished second, and a rule was passed that cyclists cannot compete in other events when their own club is holding a race, It was decided that the Wellington Centre of the N.Z.A.A.A. be written to requesting that medals won at the provincial championships held last February be forwarded. The formation of a trust fund was discussed, and it was decided that delegates refer the question to their clubs, a report to be made at the next centre meeting.
