The Junior Dominion

Dear Girls and Boys, Lots of you have sent me your names and addresses'to post off for pen-friends over the sea, but I should like ever so many more, so that I can send away a really big list. Hurry, though, and lot me have your names next week, will you please? ' Jack Frost’s page is almost here, to-day fortnight! And I scant lots of drawings, please, as well as stories. Perhaps you can write. Well, there are boys, lots of them that I know, who aye tremendously interested in explorers and far-azyiy places. So there arc lots of icy places to 'write thrilling talcs about; the far north of Russia; the iceberg-pounded seas of the Antarctic; exciting ideas rush to one vt once at the word Yukon! There is a tremendous amount of material for you to choose from and I am expecting unusually interesting stories 'from you all, especially as there are so many clever new members.

Two small sparrows have been swinging on the longest branch of the cherry tree for at least three minutes, It almost seems as though they are waiting to' see the first bud open; they arc having a great argument, perhaps about the colour of the blossom, and they seem determined to wait and settle it. Oh, here comes Timothy though, slipping along the top of the lattice like a dull sunbeam. J thought so! They have seen him, and now they are scolding him instead, quite safely out of reach as they know very well, and they are making enough noise to deafen even Timothy’s accustomed ears, so he jumps, down disdainfully and conics over to see what lam doing. He looks as though he is going to curl up on my lap and go to sleep, and as I daren’t hurt his feelings, I must.say good-bye to you. • IHlth all my love, kiwi:
