Goodson, Glen Road, who Is staring with her mother. Mrs. Connell, Hawera, Is expected home on Monday. Mrfl and Mrs. Sydney Rathbone uave returned to St. John’s Hill, Wanganui, from Napier and Gisborne. Mrs. Andrew Guild. Temuka. Is the guest of Mrs. E. S. Tomlinson, Kelburn. Mrs. Maurice Power. Dannevlrke. is coming on Tuesday to visit her mother, Mrs. Goodson, Glen Road. Lieutenant-Colonel and Mrs. E. Puttick. lately of Christchurch, have come to Wellington, where they intend to make their home. Mrs. Frank Hay. Hill Street, who has been staying in Dunedin, is now the guest of her sister, Mrs. W, S. Bean, Christchurch. Mrs. Colwlll, Auckland, who was to have attended the Pan-Pacific Conferference at Honolulu, was unable to go owing to 111-bealth. Mrs. Ross Brodie. Rangltata, South. Canterbury, is in Wellington for the Plunket conference next week, and is staying at the Windsor Hotel. Mrs. J. D. Ormond, Wallingford, Hawke’s Bay, returned home on Thursday from the conference' of Women’s Institutes in Wellington. ■ Mrs. Reid. Dunedin, who has been spending several weeks with her daughter, Mrs. K. Mason, Karorl. will return home on Monday. The Misses Jean and Jessie Grant, who were recent visitors to the Chateau Tongariro, have returned to their home in Dannevlrke. Mrs. Eric Nelson, "Paretal,” Hawke’s Bay, will arrive in Wellington on Monday for tfie Plunket conference, and will stay at the Midland Hotel. Sister May Gardiner, Mrs. McCliskie, Mrs. A. Lange, Miss Spense Richardson Mrs. Barrows, Mrs. Atkins, and Mrs. Allen are the Poverty Bay delegates to the Women’s Institute conference, and are staying at the Windsor HoteL , Among Wellington callers at New Zealand House at .the beginning of June were Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Addison, Miss A, Addison, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Jerram, Mr. and Mrs. L. T. Watkins, Mr. L. E. G. Watkins, Dr. Helen Bakewell, Mrs. W. Frlzella, Mrs. E. J. Rlddlford, Mrs. P. B. Brown, Misses H. B. On their way to the Pan-Pacific Conference at Honolulu, Miss Margaret M. Flynn, a senior mistress of the Victorian Department of Education, Mrs. Marion Townshend and Miss Florence Rothwell, passed through Auckland by the .Niagara on Monday. Two.other delegates,..including the chairman of the conference, Dr, Georgina Sweet,, are already in Hawaii. Miss Flynn, the leader of the.delegation, said that Australia would bring up the question of the treatment of the Australian aboriginal, the education of backblock children by postal tuition, the equitable distribution of food, and other matters of social welfare.
