Upper Hutt Activities

Satisfaction with the past year was expressed ai the annual meeting or the Upper Hutt branch of the Piuuket Society yesterday. There was a large attendance, and the Mayor, Mr. A. JMcGuray, presided. Regret was expressed at the death ot Mrs. Macarthy iteid, and a motion Qt sympathy witn Her relatives was carrieu. Tribute to the assistant' given to. the branch by Mrs. -UacarUiy Reid wus paid by Mr. .McCurdy, who said that tor many vears she-had oeen patroness and a lile member of the branch and had given considerable financial help. The following officers were elected tor the ensuing year: Patroness, Mrs. Bal combe Brown; president, Mrs b. B.ack ley; Mesdames A. J. Me Curdy, W. Keys, F. Leekie, R.
