FALL INTO FIRE

$ . Old Man Fatally Burned (Received July 20, 9.55 pan.) Sydney, July 20. A message from Bourke says that Bourke’s most picturesque figure, Gul Mahomet, an Afghan reputed to be 109 years of age, fell in a fire while asleep at his home to-day. He was too weak to help himself, but a friend, Dye Khan, who is about SO, rushed into the room, dragged the centenarian from the fire, and managed to beat out the flames. Mahomet, however, died in hospital.
