.A.n act of an exceptionally mean nature was committed at the Palmerston North Technical School’s sports ground in Grey Street recently. All but a few yards of a cricket pitch for use during the coming season had been returfed, when some individual removed every piece of turf over an area of 32 feet by 18 fi'tt. Oyer the remaining area of the pitch the individual dug the heel of his footwear so vigorously into the sward as to completely mar the .whole of the work.
