Bother Over Royal Marriage (From “The Dominion,’’ July 20, 1009.) The Spanish Parliament has dissolved the mixed marriage solemnised at Coburg between Princess Beatrice, daughter of the late Duke of Edinburgh, and Prince Alfonso, of Orleans, the King of Spain’s cousin. As the prince incurred the King of Spain's displeasure in marrying without his consent, a decree has been gazetted depriving him of the title and privileges of Infanto of Spain, and of all decorations, and removing him from his regiment. The prince will also be tried by a disciplinarial court for marrying without the military authorities’ permission. —' Another week’s work is expected to see the furnace at the crematorium completed, and the building will then be ready for use after the furnace has been allowed to dry. At the present time the caretaker of the Karori cemetery is engaged in forming approaches to the building. r.• • • The secretary of the Melbourne Post Office states that Australia’s reduction on Press cable rates is, equal to 50 per cent. If the companies controlling the connecting links made a proportionate reduction, the rate would be sixpence per word instead of ninepence.
