Clem Dawe’s Revue

JT is quite a long time since we received a visit from a theatrical company, so the announcement that de finite arrangements have been made for the reappearance at the St. James Theatre early In August of the very popular comedian, Mr. Clem Dawe, and his new revue company, comprising over 30 specially-selected international singers, dancers, acrobats and comedians, should be hailed with delight by lovers of the legitimate stage. It is over four years since Clem Dawe himself last appeared here, and it is a fact that, in no place is this irresistibly humorous comedian more popular than he is in Wellington, The first night of his season in Auckland was the signal for an outburst of enthu siasm. The company will appear at the St. James Theatre in conjunction with screen entertainment.

Part of the programme will be devoted to the revue company, and the remainder to a feature 'picture. This form of entertainment, which is something new to Wellington theatregoers, should prove popular.

Frank Lawton who plays, opposite Diana Wynward in Universal's “One More River,” and who now has a Universal contract, will leave immediately for an extended vacation when the production is concluded. As Miss Wynyard plans the same trek, perhaps they’ll travel together.
