SHOPPING WITH A NOTEBOOK

Felicity’s Impressions of Wellington’s Latest Enterprise. (By Betty R.) Felicity came home last night In a wltirl of excitement, “You’ll never guess,” she cried, “what a splendid new store is opening to-morrow in Willis Street. It’s called the ‘Hub, and it certainly is a hub of exciting new bargains—all the latest importations in wools, silks, cottons and a splendid selection of household liuens. The windows are as bright and cheery as can be. with a great variety of attractive goods at really surprising prices. Perhaps the two most startling lines are all shades of silk matalasse, reduced from G/ll to. 3/11. and an enticing silk sheer georgette, reduced from 7/11 to 4/11. You’ll get a big surprise, too, when you find out. the prices of that quality household linen. Do be early to-morrow, so t'hat you won’t be too late for the opening snips. I know I’m going to be an early bird when there’s such a wonderfully nice fat worm waiting.” FRIENDLY SOCIETIES’ DANCE The Pharmacy Hall was festooned with gay streamers anti coloured balloons last evening, when the National Provident and Friendly Societies’ Department held their annual dance there.
