Agricultural Society Council Meets
Tentative acceptance of an invitation to conduct the 1935 Royal Show was made by (Tie delegates of the Hawke sßay A. and P. Association at a meeting of the council of the Royal Agricultural Society yesterday. On account of ill-health the secretary of the society, Golonel J. Pow, tendered his resignation. It was accepted with regret, nnd will take effect from the end Prize monev amounting to £l9OO will be offered at the Royal Show to be held at Invercargill in December, exclusive ol special prizes offered by breed societies. The treasurer. Sir William Hunt, reported that the society had a credit balance of £262/13/6. It was agreed to approach the Government with a view to having the subsidy, made annually up to 1932, renewed.
