Wellington Association
At the annual meeting of the Wellington Croquet Association Mrs. W. S. Austin presided over a gqod attendance of delegates.
It was decided to hold the next district tournament at Hutt and P_etone, to commence on February 5, 1935. The New Zealand gold mallets will be played for on the city lawns and the competition will commence on March 12, 1935, The president announced that Mrs. C. Izard had generously donated a handsome silver trophy for competition in the Wellington tournament; she had also presented a silver tankard to the Karori club for contest In club events. A large number of subscribers intimated their intention of taking the New Zealand Council’s gazette. The election of officers resulted as follows: —Patrons, the Mayor of Wellington, Mr. T. C. A. Hislop, aud Mrs. Hislop; vice-patrons, Lady Luke, Mesdames D. McKenzie. Andrews, Wise, McCurdy, Henry, Leech, Troup, Arcus, Moore, McVilly, A. E. Pollock, Bollard, C. Scott, E. Johnson, Rhodes Williams. Mantel), Gauter, Fisher, and Messrs. W. Windsor, Richards, E. McKenzie, and J. Pollock; president, Mrs. W. S. Austin (unopposed) ; vicepresident, Mrs. R. Gardner; hon. secretary, Mrs. E. McKenzie (unopposed); lion, treasurer, Mr. J, O’Donnell (unopposed) ; hon. referee, Mrs. W. E. Caldow (unopposed) ; hon. handicapper. Mrs. E. Boocock (unopposed) ; hon. auditor, Mr. L. Powell (unopposed) ; match committee, Mesdames Brice. Fahler, Fairley, Gardner, King, Mount, Ramsay, and Wincheombe; delegate to New Zealand Croquet Council, Mrs. W. S. Austin; proxy delegate, Mrs. E. Boocock; tournament manager, Mrs. E. Boocoek; handicapping committee, Mesdames'R. Gardner and G. Mouat.
