Sir,—l read Mr. Coates’s statement that New Zealand still has pride of place because the purchasing power to England was £6/4/2 per head. Certainly these figures are only one side of the ledger. Mr. Coates has not divulged the other side. It docs not" require a child of the sixth standard to see at a glance that New Zealand, instead of holding pride of. place, is very lowest on the list, but I am glad to say. as a recent visitor to the Old Country, that the feeling of the British people is still of the highest toward us. — I am, etc..
