Y.M.C.A. Competition

The second round of the Y.M.C.A. mens basketball competition for the Bolt Cup was played in the Y.M.C.A. gymnasium last evening, there being several fast and keenly-contested games. Maranui A, though composed of players new to the game, played well against Internal Affairs, who are seasoned players, and winners of the 1933 championshin. Both of the Island Bay Swimming Club teams showed improvement o’flast week s piny. Fire Brigade, were fast and fit, and combined well. If they keep their form, ami the same team, they should go a long way.in the comnclition. Men’s basketball is becoming more popular every dny in Wellington, and Contain Duffy, physical director' of the Y.M.C.A.. lias received several requests from business firms desiring to enter tennis for the competition.
