Harold Logan’s Brilliant Finish TROTTING AT FORBURY By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, May 9. After two postponements, the second day of the Forbury Park Trotting Club’s winter meeting was held to-day in dull weather, a thick drizzle falling after the third race. The track bad made a surprising recovery / after the recent rain, and was in excellent order at the start, but became slower as the afternoon advanced. The star attraction of the day was the match race over a mile between M alia Walla and Harold Logan. A thrilling contest resulted, and was responsible for one of the greatest scenes of enthusiasm ever seen nt Forbury Park. Walin Walla, driven by McKay, was the early leader, his advantage at one stage be'ng almost two lengths. but Harold Logan, driven by M. Holmes, showed a brilliant burst of speed over the final furlong, and gained the verdict by half a length. The time was 2.13 1-5. ‘The tofplisator investments were £14.444/10/- for the day. compared with £20.791 for the second day la st yearThe total for the meeting waif £26,-01 10/-. against £35,089 last year.
