Senate Abolition Bill (Received .May 2, 10.25 p.m.) London, May 2. Mr. W. T. Cosgravo, iu the Dail, moved an amendment to .the Senate Abolition Bill making a three-fifths majority vote of the Dull necessary to the removal of any member of the judiciary. Dr. O'Higgins pointed out that failing such a precaution the wobbling will of one man would rule throughout the country and his vindictiveness decide everyone’s destiny. Mr. D. Fitzgerald declared that the Bill, if enacted, would give Mr. de Valera more power than the Tsar or any European Government, obviating Ibe necessity of his ever again facing the electors.

Mr. de Valera applied the closure am, tlie amendment was defeated by 58 to 42. .
