TO-DAY’S WEATHER FORECAST.
Meteorological Office, Wellington, Wednesday, May 2. 1934, at 4 p.m. Pressure is still very high to the east of New Zealand. A small cyclonic depression is centred north-west of North Cape, and a low pressure trough extends southward from it across the eastern Tasman Sea. Forecast: Strong north-east to northerly winds, reaching gale force in parts of the far north; backing later to west and south-west in far southern districts. ■ Seas rough north of East Cape, and becoming rough later on the west coast: elsewhere moderate in New Zealand waters. Moderate to strong northerly winds, backing later to southerlies in the eastern Tasman Sea. Seas rough. Weather cloudy to overcast in western and northern districts, with fairly general rain developing and extending later to eastern parts. Temperatures mild, but gradually becoming cooler to-morrow.
