OLD-TIME CYCLIST
Death In Melbourne By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, May 2. Private advice has been received of the death in Melbourne of Herbert John Either, aged 66. He was a prominent cyclist in the early days, being Australian and New Zealand champion in 1894 and 1895, defeating A. A. Zimmerman in a match race at Sydney. He also built and flew at Riverton one of the first aeroplanes flown in the Dominion, and later he made pioneer flights with it in Australia. He was noted as a wonderful mechanic, and even built a motor-car and marine engines. -
