MISSING STALKERS
Found by Search Party DENSE BUSH COUNTRY By Telegraph.—Press Association. Invercargill, May 2. At 6 o’clock this evening, W. Moore and F. Davis, the two Winton youths who were lost in the Lillbuni Valley on Sunday, returned to Winton little the worse for their experience. They were discovered tins morning in the dense Helmet country by Mr. T. Clark and his party, who entered rite bush the previous evening. The pair had subsisted since Sunday on half a sandwich each day. They saw tiie searching aeroplane yesterday afternoon, but failed to attract the attention of the pilot, as they were tn a gully at the time and could find no dry wood to light a lire. They made for the ridge, and about tin hour later again saw the plane, and were then able to light a fire, the smoke from which was seen by the airman, who was accompanied by Mr. Clark. The latter organised the party that <et out Inst evening, and they made for the spot where the smoke was seen in the afternoon. At 7.30 this morning Moore and Davis heard a cooee. and returned die call,'the search party arriving on the scene a few moments later.
