WAR RELIEF
Wellington Association NEEDY CASES ASSISTED A record of continued good work in the‘relief of necessitous cases among returned soldiers, or their dependents, was disclosed at the monthly meeting of the executive committee of the War Relief Association of Wellington on Monday. The chairman, Mr. L. O. - H. Tripp, presided. !, The , applications and emergency committee reported that it had met on 22 occasions since the last meeting of the executive on March 26. • The total number of claims received was 178 and 137 had been disposed of. The number of < callers at the office was 1 287. - .... Mr. Tripp, in his capacity as chairman of the finance committee, reported that for the month ended March 31 expenditure bad amounted to £323 and income to £2566, 6the excess of outgo being £67. At the same date the total available funds were: Investments, £17,700; bank current accounts, £572; cash in hand, £3O; giving a total of £18,302. Accounts aggregating £l5B were passed for payment. .
