Chasing Season Opens EGMONT MEETING Form Review and Prospects (By “The Watcher.’') The steftpicchasmg season will open at Hawera to-dfly with the first day of the Esmont Hating Club’s winter meeting, which will be concluded to-morrow. lhere '»re not many prominent ’chasers in the Egmout Steeple, but it promises to be an interesting contest. The Tongahoe Hurdles, the other jumping event on the programme, is well tilled with some , good pertormers, and in both these races the running will be watched with interest in view of winter racing. Il ends on tne flat are, in the main, exceptionally well tilled,, and an interesting series ot contests should result. .
