ENGINE DERAILED

Mishap While Shunting Dominion Special Service. Marton, April 16. A railway engine engaged in drawing goods trains to and from Palmerston Nori 11 and Marton was derailed in tiie goods yard at the Marton railway station during shunting operations on Saturday morning. The engine left the rails when it ran through “trap” points. All the wheels left the line. It had to be left in tiie meantime and the fires were drawn. Durin.i the week-end a gang of men was dispatched from the Palmerston North railway station, and the engine was replaced on lhe lines after considerable difficulty. The goods train was brought through to Palmerston North on Saturday morning by a shunting engine from tiie Marlon yards.
