Dominion Museum and Art Gallery TO-DAY’S CEREMONY The ceremony of laying the foundation stone of the Dominion Museum and Art Gallery will be performed this afternoon by the Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe. National airs will be played on the War Memorial Carillon by Miss Gladys Watkins at 2.15 p.m. Selections by the Band of the First Wellington Regiment will follow until 2.55 p.m.. when Lord Bledisloe and party will arrive. After the formal Inspection of the guard of honour his Excellency will be received by the Mayor (Mr. T. C. A. Hislop), deputy chairman of the Board of Trustees. Addresses will be made by the Mayor, Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates (Minister of Finajice), representing the Government in the unavoidable absence of the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hou.. G. W. Forbes), who is chairman of the Board of Trustees, Mr. P. Fraser, M.P., Mr. G. A. Troup, chairman of the building and finance committee of the Board of Trustees, and the GovernorGeneral. The ceremony will be performed with a gold trowel, which will be presented to Lord Bledisloe by the Government. The National Anthem and band selections will be played on the departure of the vice-regal party, and these musical items will be followed by carillon numbers. • Arrangements have been made for visitors to inspect such portions of the building as are reasonably clear of constructional- timbering and reinforcing work. TRAFFIC DIRECTIONS Motor traffic may enter Buckle Street from either end. and set down passengers either at the foot of the steps leading to the carillon or proceed to the National Art Gallery site by the road on the east side of the carillon, where it will be directed by traffic inspectors. CARILLON RECITAL Programme This Afternoon Following is the programme of carillon music to be played by Miss Gladys Watkins this afternoon on the occasion of the laying of the foundation stone of the National Art Gallery and Dominion Museum:—“The Bells of Aberdovy” (Welsh); “Oft in the Stilly • Night” (Irish) ; “Loch Lomond” (Scotch) ; “The Miller of Dee” (English); “Here’s a Health unto His Majesty”; Minuet in G (Beethoven); “E Pari Ra” (Maori song of parting) ; “Sweet and Low” (Barnby); “By the Waters of Minnetonka” (Lieurance) ; changes in 10 bells. The first half of the programme will begin at 2.20 and will continue after theceremony of laying the foundation stone. Sunday’s Programme. Sunday’s programme, which will commence at 8.30, is as follows:—Half-hour chime; hymn, “Crown Him with Many Crowns”; “My Ain Folk” (Laura Lemon) ; "Sapphic Ode” (Brahms); “Over the Sea to Skye” (A.
