ATTACKED BY DOGS
Constable and Woman OWNERS BEFORE COURT Dominion Special Service. Palmerston North, April 9. Two defendants appeared before Mr J. L. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court this morning, on charges of being the owners of dogs which attacked versons. Donald lan Robertson, whose Fox Terrier chased Constable Goodwinwhen he was cycling along Ward Street, was fine 10/- and costs. Bazil Royal Broughton was fined 10/- aud fi/2/6 costs for being the owner of a dog which attacked Mrs. Annie Amos. Senior-Sergeant Whitehouse said that Mrs. Amos was walking along the street when defendant’s dog, which was a cross between a Fox Terrier and a Collie, jumped out and tore her dress so badly that it had to bo replaced. Constable Goodwin had gone to defendant’s home and the dog had to be locked in a garage before he could go in. He considered the dog was a very vicious animal. “What has happened to all these dogs? This is the third case within a week,” commented the magistrate.
