WOMEN’S HOCKEY CLUB

Meeting at Upper Hutt Mr. A. J. McCurdy, a viee-presidcut, presided over a small attendance at the fourth annual meeting of the Upper Hutt-Women’s Hockey Club held recently in the Cosy Theatre. The annual report and balance sheet were received aud adopted, the latter, considering the heavy demands made during the season upon the club’s finances for the payment of the train fares of the unemployed girls, showing a very satisfactory credit balance. The following oflicers were elected: Patron, Mr. George Campbell; president, Mrs. McCarthy Reid ; .vice-presi-dents. Mesdames Balcombe Brown, Martin Tweed, H. Marshall, George Campbell. Barclay Smith, Miss Adams, Rev. Father Kelly, Messrs A. J. McCurdy, H- K. Campbell, Cleinentson, McArley, Haley and Dalton ; secretary, Miss Marie Strickland ; assistant secretary, Miss Joyce F. Marshall; treasurer, Miss Joyce Avery; club captain. Mrs. S. D. Braid; trustees, Misses Joyce Avery, Eileen Simpson; management committee. Misses L. Croft. H. Croft, D. Wornall, T. Black. N. Ingpen, E. Simpson, V. Bailey, Mrs. J. Hazelwood and Mr. S. Brugh; auditor, Mr. A. J. McCurdy; delegates to Wellington Women’s Hockey Association, Misses Joyce Avery and Eileen Simpson: coach, Mr. S. Brugh.
